Jal Jeevan Mission - Brainstorming Workshop Cum Planning Meeting organized.

The Prime minister of India has announced Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) on the occasion of India’s 73rd Independence Day, which aims at providing potable piped water to every household by 2024. Jal Jeevan Mission will be focussed on integrated management of demand and supply of water at local level, including creation of local infrastructure for source sustainability such as ground water recharge, rain water harvesting and management of household waste-water.
Preparatory planning activities have been initiated by the Govt. of India for the Jal Jeevan Mission and subsequently regional level workshops were conveyned at various locations. For the southern states Regional Workshop conducted at Banglore on 14th and 15th of September 2019. Various Govt. and Non-Govt. Agencies in water sector in Kerala including KRWSA and KWA participated in the  programme.
In this context, KRWSA have organized a meeting on Jal Jeevan Mission at PMU to plan the rolling out strategies for move forward the JJM activities in the state. . The meeting was held on 28th of September 2019 at Conference Hall, Project Management Unit, Thiruvananthapuram.
Smt. Joshi Mrunmai Shashank IAS, Executive Director, KRWSA presided the meeting and Mr. M. Premlal,Director {HRD} presented the salient features of  n Jal Jeevan Mission and followed by a briefing by S. Haris, Director (Technical and Operations) on immediate activities to be undertaken by KRWSA..  Detailed deliberation/ discussion  was carried out in the meeting where the senior offices of RPMU and PMU, KRWSA actively participated and put up their ideas and inputs for the smooth rolling out of JJM.
